Barra Sands is at the northern tip of the Isle of Barra in the Outer Hebrides, a ten-minute walk from a white-sand beach and the airport where planes land on the sand. There is an area for tents with a few windbreaks and a separate area for campervans and caravans with 16 hook-ups.
The two toilet and shower blocks (two of each in each block) are purpose-built, with an indoor washing-up area, a washing machine and an outside water point. Showers are coin-operated. There is a waste disposal point for motorhomes. A camping pod, with a double bed, microwave, kettle and fridge, is for people who want shelter without pitching a tent. Dogs are not charged for.
