Wowo has been taking campers since 2005 on farmland at Sheffield Park near Uckfield, with five camping fields threaded by a stream and a wooded area called Tipi Trail. Tents only: caravans and motorhomes are not accepted, campervans must be small, and there are no electric hook-ups. Every group gets a fire pit with benches and a cooking trivet, logs are delivered to the pitch in the evening, and you pick your spot on arrival rather than reserving a field.

The programme is aimed at families with young children, with free evening music, storytelling and fire shows in busy periods and bookable workshops such as bushcraft and forest school. Glamping is the other half of the business: four yurts, shepherd's huts, a pair of old wagons, geodomes and lotus bell tents, all open year-round with wood stoves. There is a shop, laundry, fridges and freezers for campers, a camp barn for wet weather and a separate Wild Spa. Dogs are welcome on camping pitches if they pass the friendly-dog check at reception.
