- Campfires
Southdown Way sits on level open ground at Hassocks, between Burgess Hill and Brighton, with views across the South Downs to the Jack and Jill windmills. Grass pitches, with or without electric hook-up, take tents of every size, trailer tents, campervans, caravans and motorhomes up to RV size, and there are fully serviced hardstandings too. The South Downs Way is on the doorstep for walkers and cyclists.
There are toilets, free hot showers including an accessible shower, baby changing, a laundry room, a washing-up area and a small shop that sells beer and wine. A coffee and cocktail trailer runs on site in summer. Raised fire pits and barbecues are fine and wood is sold at reception. Dogs on leads are welcome. All profits go to the Sussex Lantern charity for blind, partially sighted and disabled people.
