Stud Farm is a working sheep, pig and arable farm in the tiny village of Telscombe, a few miles from Lewes and Brighton, with the South Downs Way close by. The camping field is deliberately simple: choose your own pitch, park beside it, and expect big views over the downs and out to sea. It is exposed and the ground is chalky, so bring strong pegs and a mallet. Pitches are for tents and small campervans only, with no caravans or motorhomes and no hook-ups.
Facilities are a small block with four toilets and two showers (the water is not always hot, and the farm warns against expecting a power shower), a drinking water tap and a washing-up area. There is no rubbish disposal, so everything goes home with you. Five themed bell tents are set up for those who would rather not bring a tent. The farm sells its own sausages, bacon, lamb and eggs, delivered to your pitch, and has a coffee barn serving breakfast at weekends. Campers under 21 must be with an adult.
