Hook Farm Campsite is spread over four fields on a south-facing slope of a working Sussex farm, with views over the Weald. The fields are a patchwork of small meadows and pockets of woodland; the top field is big enough for ball games, while the lower fields are quieter and suit couples. You choose your own pitch on arrival.

It is deliberately simple: composting and chemical toilets, cold standpipes, and a shower trailer with four hot showers. There is no music of any kind, no party groups and quiet hours from 11pm, so it is a calm place for families. Small campfires are allowed on the ground beside your pitch and logs are sold on site. Friendly, well-behaved dogs camp free. The site opens at weekends and bank holidays only, and you have to book in advance.
