Glamping

Ullswater Holiday Park has been run by the same family since 1958 and sits on the hill above Watermillock, about a mile from the lake. The Ullswater Way footpath goes through the middle of the site, so Aira Force and Pooley Bridge are both a walk away.

Most people come for the touring and tent fields: over 160 pitches, many with electric, some artificial-grass tent pitches for wet weather, and parking beside the pitch. If you would rather not pitch, there are basic camping cabins (bring your own bedding), two en-suite glamping pods, six-berth statics and seven cottages converted from the old farm buildings.

It is firmly a family park. Groups of more than two households are turned away, there are no campfires, and the person booking must be 25 or over. There is a half-acre playground, a shop, a bar and games room from spring to autumn, a chip shop, and a secure hire field for dogs.

Dog friendly on pitches; only some cabins (1, 1A, 2, 6, 7), one static and some cottages take dogs. Pods do not. Secure Happy Paws field hire 10 pounds for up to 2 dogs (50 minutes); on-site dog wash for 2026.

No campfires or fire pits anywhere on site. Barbecues are fine on pitches, but no gas appliances or BBQs in cabins and pods.
