Hillcroft sits on Roe Head Lane just outside Pooley Bridge, with views over Ullswater and the fells behind. It covers a lot of ground: a grass camping field, hardstanding touring pitches (the top field has water and grey waste on every pitch), and a field of pods for those who want a roof without a lodge.

The pods come in two kinds: furnished glamping pods with a bed, shower and toilet, and bare camping pods that give you a heated, carpeted shell with decking where you bring your own camping kit. Lodges, holiday homes and cottages are let for self-catering, some with hot tubs and some taking pets.

There is a shop, a shower block with free showers and private bathrooms to hire, a doggy shower, laundry and WiFi, and food vans run on site. Live music nights are announced around the autumn bonfire dates.
