  • Dogs welcome

Cove Park is a small touring field on the hillside above Ullswater's west shore, about seven miles from junction 40 of the M6. Every touring pitch is gravel hardstanding with an electric hook-up, with room for a car and awning. The top pitches look over the meadows to the lake and across to Barton Fell and High Street.

Five of the pitches are serviced with water and grey-water drainage. There is a heated toilet block with free showers, washing-up and laundry, a play area built from natural materials, and a wild-flower meadow with mown paths set aside for dog walking. Red squirrels turn up around the park. Part of the site is given over to privately owned holiday homes, which are not for hire. Bookings are by phone only.
