Crossfells Campsite

Small, quiet field on the edge of the Lake District near Penrith, with hardstanding and grass pitches, optional hook-up and the C2C cycle route at the gate.

  • Dogs welcome

Crossfells is a small private field in the hamlet of Clifton Dykes, just under three miles from Penrith. Views run west to Blencathra and east to Cross Fell and Great Dunn Fell, and it sits on the edge of the Lake District National Park, a short drive from Ullswater and the Eden Valley.

It takes motorhomes, campervans, caravans and tents, though tent campers get fewer comforts: there are no showers or hot water, only a toilet, drinking water and the usual disposal points. Hardstanding and grass pitches can have a 10 amp hook-up, and tents go on non-electric grass. The Sustrans Coast to Coast route runs right past the gate. Access is through a locked gate with a keycode sent after booking.
