Newby End Farm Campsite

Small working-farm campsite in the Eden Valley near Penrith with 15 pitches, mostly with hook-up, and free showers.

  • Dogs welcome

Newby End Farm sits in the Eden Valley, between the Lake District fells and the Pennines, in a part of Cumbria that sees less rain than the lakes. The campsite is small: seven hardstanding pitches and eight grass ones, most with an electric hook-up. It takes couples and families only, and group bookings are refused.

There is a wash house with a WC, showers run off Calor gas at no charge, a chemical toilet disposal point and wireless broadband. Dogs are fine on a lead but must be kept under close control because of the farm animals. Campfires and instant barbecues are not allowed, to protect the grass. The owner asks you to text to check availability, and the postcode misleads satnavs, so use the directions on the website.
