Thanet Well is a lodge-only holiday park at Hutton Roof, between Penrith and Keswick on the quiet northern side of the Lake District, with Greystoke and Ullswater a short drive away. It is run by Darwin Escapes, which also sells lodges here, so part of the park is privately owned. The ones you can book range from one to three bedrooms and all have a full kitchen with fridge-freezer, towels, a deck and floor-to-ceiling windows. The Premier range adds a private hot tub.
Dogs are allowed in selected pet-friendly lodges for an extra charge and must be added to the booking, and not all of those have enclosed decks. Barbecues are not allowed, there are no EV chargers. The park is open 12 months a year including Christmas and New Year. Check-in is from 4pm, check-out by 10am, with one parking space per lodge.
