See all 11 photos- Dogs welcome
- Adults only
Riverside Tourer Park is run by John and Gill Bell at Millhouse, near Hesket Newmarket, just outside the Lake District National Park boundary on the quiet northern side. It began in 1997 as a five-van Caravan and Motorhome Club certificated location and later gained a second area, the Millrace, so non-members can stay too. Both areas have level hardstanding pitches with 10 amp hook-ups, and the site is for adults only.
The River Caldew and Gillcambon Beck run along much of the boundary, with a lawned bank to sit on, and the Northern Fells start about two miles away. Facilities are small and private: a toilet and a free shower in a heated cabin, fresh water, waste and chemical disposal points on both areas, and free wifi. The site takes bookings by phone or a web form rather than a booking engine. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on a short lead, and there is no kids' play, so it is a place for a quiet stop.
