Fellhill Pods sit on Fell Hill Farm, about 300 metres up the north side of Warnell Fell near Welton. On a clear day the view runs across the Solway to Dumfries and Galloway and the Pennines. The Turnbull family farms sheep here and keeps donkeys, horses and Shetland ponies, so there is usually something to see from the deck, and lambing time in spring is a draw in itself.
There are three pods. The Jacob and Texel are the standard pair; the Herdwick is a bit bigger, has underfloor heating and is easier for older guests to get about in. Each has an en-suite shower room, a small kitchen with hob, microwave and fridge, Freeview TV, bedding and towels, and a deck with a picnic bench. Each pod can hire its own private hot tub (electric for the Jacob and Herdwick, log-fired for the Texel). There is a fire pit, a children's play area with a trampoline, and a fenced-off walking area for dogs. There is no wifi but phone signal is good, and there is a 7kW EV charger in the farmyard.
