Bassenthwaite Lakeside Lodges
Small lodge park on the wooded eastern shore of Bassenthwaite Lake with hot-tub lodges, pet-friendly options and a shore jetty for fishing.
See all 12 photos- Some dogs
A lodge park of around fifty-odd wooden holiday homes climbing a wooded slope above the north-east shore of Bassenthwaite Lake, below Skiddaw, about six miles from Keswick down a 1.4-mile lane off the A591. Lodges sleep 2, 4 or 6, with fully equipped kitchens, bed linen and towels included, a deck with furniture and a gas barbecue, and parking beside the door. Lodges in the Plus ranges have hot tubs, and fourteen numbered lodges take dogs.
There are also two larger houses, the Dower House (a converted farmhouse sleeping 10) and the Croft. On site you get free wifi, a free launderette, a small play area and a DVD library. Guests can fish from the jetty and foreshore with a rod licence, and launch their own non-powered boat, canoe or paddleboard in season by arrangement. Most lodges are reached by three to five steps, so access is difficult for standard wheelchairs.
