The campsite belongs to the Wheatsheaf Inn in Low Lorton, a quiet corner of the Lake District near Cockermouth. The field is big enough that tents are not packed together, and there is a shower and toilet block with hot water plus washing and drying facilities. Ten tourer pitches have electric hook-up.

Pitches are a flat per-night rate for caravans and a per-person rate for tents. Dogs are allowed on a lead. Fires and fire pits are banned and barbecues have to be raised 18 inches off the ground. The site takes small groups, families and couples, and the pub next door serves food most evenings. Static caravans are also hired out on three to seven night stays.
