Stonehaugh sits beside Wark Forest in the Northumberland National Park, next to a small village built in the 1950s for forestry workers. The ground is flat, and tents, campervans, caravans and motorhomes all use it. Power comes from an on-site wind turbine and solar panels, and the sky is dark enough that stargazing is the main draw after dark.

The shower block has toilets, showers, a pot-washing sink and a family bathroom with a bath. There are twelve low-power hook-ups to book ahead, a small shop with basics, logs and charcoal, firepits to rent, and free phone and e-bike charging. The village hall social club, a short walk away, opens Thursday to Sunday evenings. The totem poles and picnic spot by Warksburn are ten minutes on foot. Pricing is per person, not per pitch.
