Greencarts is a working farm in the Tyne Valley, close to Hadrian's Wall, with two camping fields looking out over Northumberland countryside. Pitches are charged per person rather than per tent, and you can arrive after 2pm and book in on the day if you don't need electric.

Twelve electric hook-ups run along the top of the big field, and there is some hardstanding for campervans and caravans. Campers share a washroom block with showers, a dish-washing sink and a washer and dryer, and the farm lends a limited number of log baskets for small evening fires.

If you would rather not carry a tent, the bunkhouse has two bunk rooms with their own shower room and kitchen, and the camping barn is an unheated 11-bed dormitory for the warmer months. Walkers on the Wall and groups doing challenge events are regulars.
