Kielder Campsite is an independent three-star site in Kielder village, in the middle of the forest and close to the reservoir, with no mobile signal and dark skies. Tents go in a long open field with a track through it, picked on arrival and charged per pitch rather than per person, while 25 hardstandings with 10-amp electric suit motorhomes, caravans and roof tents.

You can also rent six four-berth pods (carpeted, heated, bring your own bedding and cooking kit) or one of two two-bedroom static caravans. Fires are not allowed, and barbecues are currently banned too, though stands are provided. Dogs are welcome on leads except in the statics, and the site closes for the season on 22 October. No stag or hen groups.
