Hartsop Fold Holiday Lodges
Fourteen wooden self-catering lodges and a hillside bothy below Angletarn Pikes in Patterdale, with hot-tub options and a footpath to Ullswater.
See all 16 photos- Some dogs
Hartsop Fold is a small lodge park in the Ullswater valley, a mile or so from Brothers Water and a footpath walk from Glenridding and Patterdale. There are 14 Scandinavian-style wooden lodges, all sleeping four in a double and a twin room, plus The Bothy, a newer two-bedroom house on the slope above the park.
The lodges come in grades: the classic Hartsop Lodge, refurbished Hart Crag, and versions with a private hot tub on the veranda (Hartsop Lodge Escape, Hart Crag Retreat and Brothers Water). Most take dogs, with enclosed decks, but the Brothers Water lodges are pet-free and The Bothy is mostly dog-free. Linen and towels are included, and there is a free laundry room.
There is no shop, bar or restaurant on the park, so you need to stock up in Windermere or Penrith or walk down to the pubs in Patterdale. Forty-odd Wainwrights can be reached on foot and a summer bus stops at the end of the lane. It is run by the same family as Flusco Wood near Penrith.
