Englethwaite Hall Club Campsite

A quiet Caravan and Motorhome Club touring site among rhododendrons in the Eden Valley, with a red squirrel hide and an easy hop from the M6.

See all 9 photos
  • Dogs welcome

Englethwaite Hall is a touring-only Club site in the Eden Valley, laid out in what was the garden of the old hall with High Stand Forest behind it. All 67 pitches are hardstanding with electric hook-up, and outfits up to 10m are accepted.

It works well as a stopover on the way to Scotland, but people also stay longer for the footpaths straight from the site and the Eden Valley riverside walk. There is a hide for watching red squirrels. Carlisle, Hadrian's Wall and Carlisle Castle are a short drive away, and there is a pub and village within a mile.

The Club asks you to follow its own directions rather than sat nav for the last stretch, and not to come through Armathwaite.

  • Red squirrel viewing hide on site
  • Footpaths from the gate and the Eden Valley riverside walk
  • Quick run from M6 junction 42
