- Glamping
Pennine View Park sits on the old goods yard a mile from the centre of Kirkby Stephen, with the River Eden at the bottom of the site. It is roughly halfway along the Coast to Coast walk, and a short drive from the Lakes, the Dales and the North Pennines.
Touring pitches are a mix of full gravel, part gravel and grass, all with hook-up. Tents go in a level, hedged field with its own small washroom and a campers' kitchen, and walkers and cyclists arriving without a vehicle have their own rate. Three timber mountain pods sleep two to five. The main washrooms were refurbished with free hot showers and underfloor heating, and the converted goods shed is now a bar called the Engine Shed, with a different street-food van each night.
