Shaw Ghyll is a small, privately run site above Hawes in Upper Wensleydale, in a wooded valley where Hardraw Beck tumbles over several waterfalls. It takes tents, touring caravans and motorhomes on level pitches, with some hardstanding and electric hook-ups. The site is open from the start of April to the end of October.

Simonstone Hall and the Green Dragon Inn at Hardraw are both within walking distance, and the Butter Tubs pass and Great Shunner Fell are close by for walkers. There is also a two-bedroom static caravan with decking that sleeps four, let for a minimum of three nights. Booking is by email or phone only, and the site recommends booking ahead in the busy season.
