Glanllyn covers sixteen acres of parkland on the southern shore of Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake), inside Snowdonia National Park. Tents and small campervans go on level grass, either electric or non-electric, with the open non-electric area running along the river and close to the water. Caravans and motorhomes are placed on hardstanding with hook-up, and four premium lakeside pitches take motorhomes up to 8m. Pitches are allocated on arrival, so you can't book a particular spot.

The park has its own shingle beach for launching kayaks, paddleboards and small sailing boats (a lake permit is bought from the machine on the foreshore), plus fishing on the lake and river. Amenity blocks heated by biomass have free hot showers, there is a shop and bean-to-cup coffee, a play area, and a footpath and cycle route into Bala. A bus stop sits at the entrance. Two self-catering cottages, Glanllyn Lodge and Bwthyn Glanllyn, let guests use the whole park. A separate area of privately owned holiday homes next door is not for rent.

  • Free hot showers in biomass-heated blocks
