Cae Adda is a family-run site on the bank of Llyn Trawsfynydd, the big reservoir in the Rhinog hills of Eryri (Snowdonia). Camping is in two large fields with views over the lake and mountains. Cars park in a separate area between the fields rather than on the grass, and campervans under 6m are welcome if there is room.
Camping guests share one toilet block with three toilets and two hot showers, plus a camp kitchen with a fridge, microwave and kettle. Fires are allowed in the firepits, with logs sold at reception, and dogs are fine on leads. There is also an off-grid lakeside cabin for four, with a log burner and sleep mats, and a self-catering cottage for six. Swimming and inflatables are not allowed in the lake, but fly fishing from the bank is.
