Barn Farm sits above the Derwent Valley outside Birchover, about three miles west of Matlock and seven south of Bakewell. Tents have their own fields, while caravans, motorhomes and trailer tents go on hard-surfaced touring pitches that all have electric hook-up. The ground on the tourer pitches can be uneven, so levelling blocks are worth packing.

The site has individual shower cubicles, an accessible shower room, washing machines, a dryer, a games room with arcade machines and a pool table, and a wooden play area for under-10s. A small shop sells groceries, gas and camping spares. Food vans and a bar appear on selected summer weekends when the overflow field is open.

Five converted barns sleep from two to twelve people, from simple bring-your-own-bedding bunk barns to self-catering stays with a whirlpool bath, and one with a private hot tub. Four footpaths meet at the farm, the Limestone Way passes close by, and Stanton Moor and its stone circle are a short walk away.
