Ayres Rock is a small hostel and campsite at Ayre on the south-west coast of Sanday, looking over the Noust of Ayre. New owners took it over in September 2024. The campsite has six bay-view tent pitches, a field for groups, two hardstanding pitches with electric hook-up for campervans, and a spot for wild campers and Aires stopovers with waste disposal and fresh water.
Campers share heated showers and a kitchen. Three insulated, heated camping pods come with a kettle and bedding, and the hostel side has twin rooms, a double en-suite and a self-contained studio cottage. A takeaway serving breakfast, pastries and ready meals was due to open in April 2026. Pets are welcome. Seals and otters are regularly seen from the shore.
