The Firs is a Caravan and Motorhome Club touring site with 64 pitches, 53 of them hardstanding, on high ground above Belper with views across the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site. Non-members can book. For 2026 the Club is running it as an adults-only trial.
It is a quiet base for the Derbyshire Dales and Peak District. The village pub is about half a mile on foot, Belper is around two miles away with a Co-op, Aldi and Morrisons, and Matlock Bath, the Midland Railway Centre at Butterley and Nottingham are all a short drive. The Club asks drivers to use its written directions for the final approach rather than sat nav, because of unsuitable roads for towing.
