Callow Top has been run by the Kidd family for over forty years and sits on the Tissington Trail, about twenty minutes' walk from Ashbourne and twenty minutes' drive from Alton Towers. Tents go on big unmarked-feeling grass pitches of roughly 18m by 9m with no hook-up, while caravans and motorhomes get level hardstandings with 10 amp electric, some of them hedged off for privacy.
It is a busy family park in school holidays, with a heated outdoor pool, paddling pool, play area, games room, fishing lake, shop and the Callow Inn on site. Dogs are welcome on the pitches and in the pub garden, but not in the pool area or the cottages. Open fires and generators are banned; raised, mesh-covered fire pits and raised barbecues are fine. There are no day or evening visitors, and it is couples and families only.
- Heated outdoor pool and paddling pool free to guests
- On-site pub, shop and games room
- Tissington Trail runs past, with a 20 minute walk into Ashbourne
- Enclosed off-lead dog field
- Four EV charge points
