Tannenbaum sits on the edge of Alderwasley in the Derbyshire hills, with a wide view across the valley from every pitch. Camping is simple: flat, well-drained grass for tents, caravans and motorhomes, with no electric hook-ups. There are also three fully fenced 'Pawfect' pitches built for dog owners, each with a cook shelter, fire pit and its own portable loo.

For something comfier there are two converted horse lorries and a shepherd's hut. Annie and the Herdwick both come with a hot tub and a log burner and sleep two adults; the Outpost sleeps up to four. Everyone shares flushing toilets, hot showers, a washing-up area, a fridge-freezer, a dog wash and a small shop, and there is a licensed bar and coffee hut with limited opening days.

Shining Cliff Woods, a protected woodland with walking and mountain-bike routes, is on the doorstep, and the High Peak Trail is about three miles away. Note that the site is not taking any more 2026 bookings, with 2027 bookings to open from March 2027.
