Eilean Fraoich has been taking campers since 1992 in Shawbost, on the Atlantic side of Lewis, about 25 minutes from Stornoway and an hour from Tarbert. The meadow is level and mown, with hardstanding pitches for caravans and motorhomes, electric hook-ups, plenty of taps and a drain for chemical toilets.

The shower and toilet block has separate men's and women's sections plus private washrooms, and there is a laundry room and a campers' kitchen and common room with fridges, a microwave and kettle (no hobs or ovens). All of it is wheelchair accessible. The beach and a freshwater loch are about a mile away. A 40ft static caravan is let separately. The season runs April to September, and open fires and generators are not allowed.
