Bowfield Farm is a working livestock farm on the edge of County Durham, a mile from the A66 and about three miles from Barnard Castle. The camping and caravan field is flat, with up to 15 pitches, some with electric hook-up, and views across the farmland.

There are toilets, showers, water, chemical disposal and rubbish facilities, and a fridge and freezer campers can use. Awnings are free and dogs are welcome on leads. There is no play area and children need watching on a working farm.

It is not on a bus route and there is no footpath into town, so you will want a car or a taxi. Open fires are not allowed but charcoal barbecues are.
