Thorpe Farm Centre sits at Greta Bridge on the County Durham side of Teesdale, on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. The touring and camping field is part of a bigger farm complex that also has a holiday park for static owners, so you get a farm shop, a cafe and restaurant, a gift and reclamation barn, animal paddocks and a soft play area within walking distance of your pitch.

Pitches are grass or hardstanding and take tents, caravans, motorhomes and campervans, with electric hook-up on many. The site is 20 to 50 metres from the A66 dual carriageway, and the owners warn that road noise carries across the whole camping area. Dogs are welcome on a lead, with a walking area on the farm.

Barnard Castle is a few minutes away.
