Hill Top Huts is a row of glamping pods built in 2018-19 at the back of the Moorcock Inn on the B6278 at the north end of Eggleston. The pods come in three sizes sleeping three, four or five, each insulated and double glazed with a fridge, kettle, microwave and toaster, electric sockets and a decked area with a picnic table. Two are wheelchair accessible with parking alongside, and some are set aside for dogs.
Toilets and showers are shared, and the site has coin-operated washing and drying. Open fires and fire pits are banned, but barbecues are allowed on the designated slab or at the picnic benches. The pub serves meals and has a games room. Middleton-in-Teesdale is about five miles up the dale, Barnard Castle about six, and High Force waterfall around eight.
