Barrhill Holiday Park is a small, low-key park in the village of Barrhill, on the South Ayrshire side of the border with Dumfries and Galloway and about a 20-minute drive from Girvan. The touring field has hardstanding and grass pitches, each with water and grey-water drain, 16 amp hook-up and a flat nightly price that includes electric, showers and up to two dogs.

Ten glamping pods sit separately, each with its own hot tub. They range from a luxury pod for a couple to deluxe pods with en-suite showers for up to five, newer deluxe plus pods with bedding included, and stargazer pods with roof windows that sleep six. Except in the deluxe plus pods you bring your own bedding.

The park is a handy base for the Galloway Forest Dark Sky Park, the 7stanes mountain bike trails, Girvan beach and Culzean Castle. Holiday homes are privately owned, and the park runs from 1 March to 31 January with winter weekends in February.
