Silvercraigs sits on a hill 350 metres above Kirkcudbright, an easy walk down to the town and its shops, with views over the area. It has 52 pitches, 31 of them level hardstanding, with 16 amp hook-ups, and separate areas for tents, including a tent-with-electric section.

Prices are a single flat nightly figure per pitch type, with wifi, a car and the hook-up included. There are heated shower and toilet blocks, a laundry, a motorhome waste point and a little cookhouse for wet weather. A playpark sits next door and the park is open all year.

The same operator runs The Hut, a self-catering group hostel on the coast at The Dhoon, open Easter to September on a donation basis.
