Solway View has been running since 2007 at Balmangan Farm, near Borgue and a short drive from Kirkcudbright. Every touring and camping pitch is large, with its own picnic bench and fire pit, and there are three areas: hardstanding pitches at the top for caravans and motorhomes, a camping field open year-round, and a summer-only field for tents. A few pitches have sea views and many have 16 amp hook-up.

Five heated wooden wigwam pods sleep up to five and have an en-suite toilet, fridge, microwave and kettle; bring your own bedding. The site runs on a wind turbine, has two heated shower blocks, a camp kitchen, laundry with a drying tent and a fenced dog play area where dogs can run off the lead. A small secluded bay is a short walk away, and Brighouse Bay and Dhoon Bay are a few minutes by car. There is also a wood-fired sauna that non-residents can book.

It is a family-friendly site and hen, stag and party groups are not accepted. It is open all year apart from 20 to 27 December.
