Gwern Gof Isaf is a sheep and cattle farm in the Ogwen Valley near Capel Curig, with five camping fields that have been used for over a century. Pitches are not allocated: you choose your own spot, so arriving early gives more choice. Cars stay on the access road that runs through the middle of the fields, not on the grass.

The charge is per person per night, with nothing extra for tents or campervans. Bookings are capped at ten people, with no exceptions. Campervans under 7.5 m are fine if they park on the track, but there are no hook-ups, no waste or water disposal and no caravans.

The shared building has a washing-up room, toilets, coin-operated showers, a washing machine and tumble dryer, a kettle and toaster, and lockable charging lockers. There is no shop and no food, so bring supplies. Dogs are not allowed anywhere on the farm, including the cottages. Fires and BBQs must be raised off the ground in your own container.

If you would rather be indoors there is the Dairy Bunkhouse, with six single beds and a full kitchen, plus a larger bunkhouse and two self-catering cottages.
