Garth is a working sheep and cattle farm on the A4086 between Capel Curig and Pen-y-Pass, with fields running down towards Llynau Mymbyr and Moel Siabod behind. The views take in the Snowdon Horseshoe, and the lake is used for paddling and wild swimming.

It is run as a deliberately peaceful site: no pets, no stereos or loud music, and groups are limited to six (Duke of Edinburgh groups can book by email). The ground is uneven so you choose your own pitch. There are no electric hook-ups.

The toilet block, hot showers (£1 for 5 minutes), basins and a dishwashing sink sit part-way up the track to the farmhouse. Payment is on arrival. Betws-y-Coed, seven miles away, has the nearest shops, and the Snowdon Sherpa bus stops at the entrance.
