Snowdon Base Camp is two camping fields running down to Llyn Cwellyn in Snowdonia National Park, with the River Gwyrfai alongside and forestry walks from the gate. Views run across the lake to Snowdon and Mynydd Mawr.

Cars do not go onto the fields. You park in the car park or alongside and wheel your kit down a boardwalk on the trolleys provided. The shower block is open round the clock with underfloor heating and free power showers, and there is a laundry room by the car park.

Fires are allowed in the site's own fire pits on sleds, burning logs bought from the pub. A few campervan bays with electric hook-up sit in the small car park. The Cwellyn Arms, roughly a 15-minute walk, serves food, and the same business lets pub rooms, farmhouses and bunkhouses.

  • Fire pits on every field, logs from the pub
  • Boardwalk and trolleys, no cars on the fields
  • Underfloor-heated shower block open 24 hours
