Tyn-yr-Onnen is a family-run sheep farm in Waunfawr, on the edge of Eryri (Snowdonia) between Caernarfon and Beddgelert. The camping field has grass pitches with or without electric hook-ups, and there are hardstanding pitches too. Campers share the farm with sheep, donkeys, llamas, pigs, ponies and poultry, and there is a children's play park and sandpit. Walks start from the farm up Moel Eilio and Mynydd Mawr, and Snowdon is within reach.
If you do not want to pitch a tent, five identical timber camping pods sleep four with no beds, so you bring sleeping gear. There are also six lodges from a one-bed cabin for two to a three-bedroom lodge for six, with kitchens, bed linen and towels included. Showers are free and hot, there is a utility room, kitchen facilities, baby changing, an accessible shower room, wifi and EV charging. Small campfires are allowed in a fire basket using logs bought from the farm.
