Glenshiel Campsite is a small site in Glen Shiel, just off the main road to Skye, with a river on the boundary and the Five Sisters of Kintail rising behind. It changed hands recently and the washrooms have been refurbished. There are only a handful of tent pitches and a few hardstanding bays for vans, and two wardens live on site.
Tents go on grass with no cars alongside; vehicles park in the car park. The hardstanding pitches have hook-up and take caravans, motorhomes, campervans and roof tents up to 8m. It is a good stop for Cape Wrath Trail walkers, who can post a resupply parcel ahead, and for Munro baggers: the Five Sisters and South Shiel Ridge start nearby. The Kintail Lodge pub is a 20 minute walk and a Citylink bus stop is five minutes away.
