- Glamping
Cedar Gables is a small family-run field with 25 pitches of about 12m for tents, caravans, motorhomes and trailer tents, plus two longer pitches beside the play area. Seventeen pitches have electric hook-up. The ground slopes gently and the A21 is close enough that you may hear traffic, so earplugs are suggested for light sleepers.
Facilities are simple: separate men's and women's toilets and showers (coin-operated), washing-up sinks with kettles, and a small campers' lounge with a fridge-freezer and phone charging. There is a children's playground and charcoal barbecues to borrow.
A footpath runs from the site to Bewl Water, about a mile away, and Bedgebury Forest and Scotney Castle are both within two miles. There is also a two-person shepherd's hut with its own kitchen, shower and toilet. The site is quiet by design: no loud music, no day visitors and no commercial vehicles.
