Abbey Wood is a Caravan and Motorhome Club site tucked into trees in the Bexley/Greenwich area, and it takes tourers, tents and a few pods. Non-members are welcome. It is open all year and busy in summer, with a lot of European visitors.
The main reason to come is the transport: Abbey Wood station is a short walk away and the Elizabeth Line gets you to central London in about 20 minutes. Greenwich and the Thames Path are close, and Lesnes Abbey woods are on foot. Most pitches are hardstanding, and there is electric hook-up, a motorhome service point, a laundry, a playground and a dog area. The site is inside the London low and ultra-low emission zones, so check whether your vehicle needs to pay. The gates are locked to vehicles overnight.
