Valley Holiday Park

Family-run park in a wooded valley 200 yards from Polzeath beach, with a tent and tourer field, 50-plus static caravans and apartments. No dogs.

The Valley has been run by the same Cornish family since 1945 and sits in a valley that runs down to Polzeath beach, with the entrance about 200 yards from the sand. The camping field is on one side of the stream, backed by woodland, with two toilet blocks, a free sheltered surf shower for rinsing off after the beach, and a South West Coast Path link a few minutes' walk away.

Camping is mostly aimed at families, priced per pitch by tent, caravan or motorhome size. The same park lets over fifty static caravans by the week, six duplex apartments above the amenity block, and a separate house in the village. There is a bar with a pizza and burger cafe, a launderette, and a fenced play area. Dogs are not allowed anywhere on the site because of the wildlife.

Apartments and the house: Friday to Friday, 10 bands. Extra-large pitch prices are 'from'. Showers are metered at 50p. Camping pitch prices assume a family booking (two adults plus children); extra adults over 17 pay extra.
