The Old family have farmed here for generations and have taken in holiday visitors since the 1920s. The touring field sits above Treyarnon Bay near Padstow, with 81 grass pitches, 26 of them with hook-up, and the sea in view from much of it. The beach is a walk of five to seven minutes through the caravan park and car park, and Constantine Bay is a short walk over the headland.

It is deliberately simple. There is no clubhouse, no adventure playground and no wifi, and phone signal is patchy. Showers are a coin-in-the-slot affair in a block about five minutes' walk from the field (£1 for 7 minutes). Two small shops at Treyarnon and Constantine Bay are within walking distance, and food vans and a fish and chip van visit in the school holidays.

Prices are per tent, van or caravan rather than per head, with a size band for each. Dogs are welcome in spring and September but not in the main fields in July and August; in summer they go to a separate field a 10 to 15 minute walk away, with no electric, booked by phone. Campfires and generators are banned, and the site is for families and couples, with no single-sex groups. The same owners let static caravans overlooking the bay and eleven cottages.
