The Orchard is a compact family-run field of about 24 pitches in the middle of Croyde, behind Bridge Farm B&B next to the post office. It has been taking campers since 1946 and is aimed squarely at tents and VW-sized campervans: there are no electric hook-ups, and caravans, motorhomes and big vans such as Ducatos or Sprinters are turned away.

You park beside your tent, and the village's surf shops, cafes and pubs are a few steps away, with the beach about ten minutes on foot. Facilities are simple but well covered: hot showers, a drying area, washing-up area, freezer block swaps, wifi and lockers for charging phones. Dogs on leads are welcome and BBQs are fine, but fire pits are not allowed. Bookings are by enquiry form, and the owners pencil you in by email.
