Ocean Pitch is a small, tightly packed field at the north end of Croyde Bay, with the beach almost on the doorstep. Pitches sit right next to each other in small, medium and large sizes, mostly grass and many with 16 amp hook-up, so you are expected to check your tent or van fits with half a metre to spare. Tents up to six people, campervans, motorhomes up to 6.5m, trailer tents and roof tents are all fine; caravans are not.

It runs a fairly strict, quiet-ish regime: no dogs staying overnight, no hen or stag parties or large groups, music off by 9pm and lights out at 11pm, and not recommended for under-2s. In return you get a tidy site with six showers and six toilets, a free 24-hour fridge and freezer hut, a wetsuit rinse, key storage for surfers and surfboard hire from reception. Biffen's Kitchen and Waves & Waffles trade on site, and you can add a ready-pitched bell tent or dome from the SeaPod team.
