Hidden Valley Park

Open-all-year touring and camping park in a wooded valley near Ilfracombe, every pitch with hook-up, plus a bar-restaurant, shop and three dog-friendly lodges.

  • Dogs welcome

Hidden Valley sits in a small wooded valley beside the A361 at West Down, roughly midway between Ilfracombe and Braunton and about three miles from Woolacombe. It is split into two areas: Kingfisher Meadow, a level grass field with a stream along one side for tents, and Otter's Creek, a gently terraced area of mostly hardstanding pitches for caravans, motorhomes and campervans. Pitches come in small, medium, large and premier sizes, all with a 16 amp hook-up. The large and premier pitches also have their own fresh water and waste water connections, and most have a TV aerial point.

On site there is a shop selling bread, local meat and camping basics, a bar, cafe and restaurant overlooking the lake (open Easter to September, food Wednesday to Sunday), two play areas, a laundrette and a shower block with adjustable-temperature showers and a family shower room. A bus stop at the gate has services roughly twice an hour to Ilfracombe and Barnstaple, and National Cycle Route 27 passes nearby for rides towards the Tarka Trail. Dogs are welcome on a lead in the camping and touring areas, and there are three self-catering forest lodges in the woods that also take dogs.

  • All pitches have a 16 amp hook-up
  • Stream running beside the tent meadow
  • Bus stop at the gate for Ilfracombe and Barnstaple
  • Bar, cafe and lakeside restaurant on site
  • Dogs welcome, with woodland walks from the park
