The Heart of Exmoor is a plain, spacious camping field on a hill above Exford, inside Exmoor National Park. Pitches look across to Winsford Hill and Withypool Common, and the walking and cycling start more or less at the gate. There are farm animals about, streams for children to play in and open fields for dogs.
Facilities are minimal by design: a compost toilet with a charging point, a cold tap and recycling bins. There are 11 grass tent pitches, seven solo-camper pitches, seven for campervans and one empty bell tent to hire. Prices are shown in an online booking system, so check the site for your dates.
