Springfield Farm Holiday Pods

Springfield Farm sits just south of Edinburgh, near Penicuik, with the Pentland Hills on one side and the Borders mountain-biking trails on the other. The accommodation is a set of self-catering glamping pods, each sleeping up to six: a double bedroom, a second room with two single beds and a sofa that folds out into a double. Inside there is an open-plan living area with a full kitchen, a separate bathroom with a shower, a smart TV, free wifi and underfloor-style infrared heating, and outside each pod has its own seating, gas barbecue and hot tub.

Bedding and towels are supplied and beds are made up before you arrive. A signposted grass farm walk loops round the fields, fenced off from the grazing animals, and the farm sells its own beef, pork and lamb as barbecue and breakfast packs. A bus stop at the end of the 1km farm road has Border Buses running into Edinburgh. Two of the pods take one dog.
